We ask which market you are selling into before quoting, because material selection is where compliance is actually secured. Sourcing pre-certified materials is far cheaper than testing finished goods and finding a failure. We keep material compliance statements on file, arrange testing through recognised laboratories when your programme needs it, and hand you the documentation with the shipment so your broker and your retail partner both have what they need.
Handbags are general consumer products, not PPE or electronics, so they do not require a CE mark in the strict sense. However, they must comply with REACH (chemical limits on lead, cadmium, phthalates, azo dyes) and the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). We supply REACH test reports and a Declaration of Conformity on request.
For the US, children's bags (under 12) must meet CPSIA (lead limits, phthalate limits, tracking label). Adult fashion bags are not CPSIA-regulated but California's Prop 65 requires warning labels if the product contains listed chemicals above thresholds. We supply Prop 65-compliant materials and the required warning where applicable.
SABER is Saudi Arabia's online conformity platform. Many consumer goods imported to Saudi Arabia need a Product Certificate of Conformity (PCoC) via SABER. For handbags the requirement depends on the HS code; leather and certain categories are more likely to need it.
